VIRGIN Atlantic are offering jobs to Thomas Cook cabin crew staff after the company went bust.

Thomas Cook ceased trading with immediate effect on Monday, September 23, leaving staff and passengers devastated.

But now other airlines are offering support to its staff and customers - including Virgin who have launched a specific recruitment path to support staff from Thomas Cook who wish to continue working as cabin crew.

Virgin Atlantic are looking for the following:

  • An excellent command of English - both spoken and written
  • Experience delivering irresistible customer service
  • Warm, friendly and agreeable attitude
  • 18 years of age is the minimum requirement
  • Have an arm reach of 210cm (assessed at assessment stage without shoes)
  • Able to brace with your feet flat on the floor whilst sitting in our jump seat - which is 45cm from the floor (also assessed without shoes)
  • You will have no live criminal convictions or cases pending - including drink-driving convictions
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • As a confident swimmer, you will need to demonstrate that you can swim 25 metres unaided and tread water. This is while putting on and manually inflating a life jacket, this is tested during training. Don't worry if you can't swim yet, there is plenty of time to learn before your course.

If selected, you will take part in a five-week training course along with 20-hours of e-learning modules.

Virgin offer workers up to seven flights a year to a range of destinations, stay in a Virgin Holidays Hotel while including pension and private medical schemes and life assurance.

As part of the role you will be required to fly from London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
