A 30-year-old "knife carrier" accused of a brazen smash and grab at a jewellery shop on Bromley High Street has been charged.
Nathan Thamby was charged with aggravated burglary, possession of a knife and assaulting an emergency worker.
Chisholm Hunter had its window smashed on Saturday (September 22) morning before a man allegedly stole watches in front of gobsmacked onlookers.
Police arrested the suspect minutes later and he was charged on Sunday (September 23) after 24 hours in custody. Officers were called to the burglary at 9.30am.
The met said after the arrest that the suspect used a hammer to smash the window before "a number of items of jewellery" were stolen.
Thamby, of no fixed address, was also charged with another burglary, which the police have not released details on.
He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today.
