GEORGE Sampson is going back to his roots with a performance on Britain's Got Talent this Saturday.

The former Birchwood High School student confirmed on his Instagram account that he will be appearing on the show that propelled him to fame in this week's episode.

He is competing in ITV's Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions. The spin-off programme pits former winners and favourites against each other in a kind of entertainment battle royal.

George, who was recently nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for his role in the musical Our House, won the second series of Britain’s Got Talent with his showstopping street dance performances when he was just 14.

That secured him a role in the 2008 West End production of hip hop musical Into The Hoods.

George, who attended Gorse Covert Primary School pupil, also created dance DVDs and released a single, Get Up On The Dance Floor, which reached number 30 in the UK chart.

He is also known for Waterloo Road and the StreetDance films.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions continues at 8.30pm on Saturday.
