THE public will get their chance to raise concerns about knife crime during a special 'conversation' event in Halton later this week.

Taking place on Friday at the Youth Zone in Runcorn Shopping City, above the Iceland store, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm the events are organised by Well Halton, Halton Borough Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane.

The event is supported by NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Residents or anyone who has concerns or wants to talk about knife crime can speak to local leaders from the Police, Council and NHS.

Owen Ashworth from Well Halton and NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group who has set up the event said: "We want to hear the views and concerns from local people, especially anyone who has been affected or involved in knife crime.

"The aim is to gain a better understanding of why this situation exists in Halton, and why do people feel the need to carry a weapon.

"People will have the chance to ask questions, or to give us their insights on this subject.

"We want to make Halton a safe place to live, where people should not be afraid or be involved in any sort of violent knife crime, help us to make Halton safe for everyone".
