A POLICE inquiry has been launched after a bed was set on fire in a field in Widnes.
Emergency services were called to Clap Gate Crescent at around 10.40pm on Sunday, September 8, following reports of a fire.
Firefighters discovered a bed well alight in the middle of a field.
Crews then used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
It is believed that the fire had been started deliberately.
