DETAILED plans to build 370 homes on land in Appleton will be discussed by councillors next week.

Barratt Homes it looking to build the homes off Dipping Brook Avenue and Green Lane close to Appleton Thorn.

Outline planning permission has already been approved for development on the land which is owned by Homes England.

Now detailed plans will be discussed at Wednesday's meeting of the development management committee.

It will see a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes built on the 20 hectare site.

Planning documents say 111 will be affordable.

The land, which is currently open fields with ponds, hedgerows and trees, sits outside the green belt but is boarded by green belt.

More than 30 neighbours have sent objections as has Appleton Parish Council and Liberal Democrat borough councillor Sharon Harris.

She the nearby Cat and Lion junction is inadequate, warned there is, inadequate car parking provision, pavement and driveway dimensions and says that further clarity is needed on the alterations to the public right of way

She is also said clarification on the garden suburb strategic link is necessary.

Reference is made in the plans to a possible link road in future. Land in the site has been earmarked for that use.

The application will be discussed in the Town Hall at 6.30pm on Wednesday.
