BILLED as one of the oldest shows in the county, Keswick Show never loses its charm.
From sheep shearing to daredevil stunts, the show draws up to 10,000 spectators from far and wide.
The traditional agricultural event takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, on the outskirts of Keswick, near Braithwaite.
As well as one of the Lake District’s iconic sheep, the Herdwick, the show will feature all the family favourites, and more besides.
Although the show no longer has cattle classes there are plenty of other animals in the rings to entertain the crowds, young and old alike.
The agricultural section is dominated by sheep with the traditional Lakeland breeds of Herdwick and Swaledale, but there are also classes for horses, terriers and foxhounds, plus a tent just for poultry.
The packed and popular industrial tent will see the battle of the beetroot, buns and begonias, while for the juniors there’s also the pony games and children’s dog and pet shows.
Car parking is free adjacent to the showground next to the A66, but there is also a free shuttle bus service from Booths car park in Keswick or vintage buses provided by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust.
