A WOMAN drove whilst over the legal alcohol limit after getting into an “altercation” at a pub, a court heard.

Yasmin Elizabeth Suddell, of Bryn y Ddol in Welshpool, appeared before magistrates in Mold.

She admitted having driven whilst over the alcohol limit in Hope Street, Gwersyllt, on August 8.

Prosecutor Justin Espie said 22-year-old Suddell had been seen by police at about midnight on the day of the incident. She had stopped at a traffic light, but beyond the line. Following a breath test, she was arrested.

Emma Simoes, defending, told the court: She has no previous convictions and was previously a lady of good character. “She had been working that day and had gone for some alcoholic beverages. But she got into an altercation with someone in a pub, left and got in her car. No sooner had she left the car park, she was stopped by the police. This young lady is very disappointed in herself. It is out of character for her and she is ashamed and embarrassed for appearing before the court.”

Magistrates gave her a driving disqualification of 17 months and ordered she pay a fine of £415, court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.
