Green Oaks Shopping Centre in Widnes will be hosting free circus and magic activities to celebrate the summer holidays across two days in August.

The shopping centre will be organising the workshops with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Runcorn based hospice Halton Haven.

Visitors will have the chance to take part in a circus workshop and try their hand at juggling, spinning plates and more from 11am until 4pm, this Saturday, August 24.

To finish off the summer holidays there will be a magic show throughout the day along with a workshop to learn some crafty new tricks on Saturday, August 31, from 11am until 4pm.

On both days children have the chance to have their faces painted and transformed into a butterfly, tiger or even their favourite superhero with people asked to "pay what they feel" and all money raised going to the hospice, funding their incredible work caring for local people with life limiting conditions.

There will also be some extremely tall visitors appearing throughout both days.

Parents who post a picture of their little one’s taking part in the activities onto the  shopping centre Facebook page will also have the chance to win a £20 gift card to spend at their favourite Green Oaks stores including Pandora, Peacocks.

Chris Andrews, senior fundraising nanager from Halton Haven Hospice said: “We are very grateful that Green Oaks have chosen to raise money for the Haven again this summer.

"We rely hugely on donations and fundraising efforts from our local community to allow us to continue caring for the people who need us.

"It’s shaping up to be a great couple of days at the shopping centre with loads of exciting things going on!”
