A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl has conquered Wales’ tallest mountain to raise money for the care home where her great grandmother lives in Widnes.

Fifi Phillips’ sponsored walk to the top of the 1,085m high Snowdon raised more than £520 for Halton View Care Home on Sadler Street.

She is a regular visitor to the home where her great grandmother Audrey Galinsky is a resident, and wanted to show her support.

The money has been used to buy two companion benchs, where residents can sit and chat to each other when strolling down the corridor.

Clare Richards, home manager, said: “What an incredible achievement for Fifi to have walked to the top of Snowdon.

“The walk can take adults five to seven hours to complete so we’re really impressed with Fifi’s amazing achievement.

“We are so grateful she chose to use the walk to fundraise for Halton View. The money has made a big difference to those who live with us, including her great grandmother Audrey.”
