A MOTORCYCLIST from Runcorn was taken to hospital with multiple injuries after a two-vehicle crash in New Brighton at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Marine Promenade at 1.20pm on Sunday following an incident involving a motorbike and Ford Zetec.

The car's driver stopped at the scene following the crash.

The injured motorcyclist, 63, sustained a ruptured spleen, smashed coller bone and four broken ribs during the crash.

He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital and then to Aintree Hospital's critical Trauma unit for treatment.

He has since had an operation and is now in a stable condition.
