ROADWORKS are due to start on Winwick Road on Monday which will last for approximately 15 weeks.

The works on the A49 are being undertaken by the owner of Junction Nine Retail Park and are aimed at improving access to, from and on the site.

During the roadworks, traffic will be managed with off-peak lane closures between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Friday.

All lanes will be open to traffic outside of these times.

A council spokesperson said: “The works, which have been developed closely with the council, will provide a new dedicated left turn lane into the site.

“The length of the right turn lane will also be increased and an internal one-way system will be introduced for the car park to help alleviate queueing traffic, particularly at weekends.

“It is hoped that weekend lane closures will not be required, but where unavoidable, these will be between the hours of 6am and 11am to avoid the busiest hours.”
