WANTAGE Town are looking forward to renewing their rivalry with Brackley Town Saints when the sides meet in the Emirates FA Cup tomorrow.
The Alfredians, who reached the second qualifying round in 2018/19, pipped their Northamptonshire visitors to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title last season.
And Wantage’s joint manager Matt Biddle, who takes charge of his first competitive game alongside Tom Austin, is expecting a testing extra preliminary round tie.
“It’s going to be a very tough game,” he said. “We had a lot of close games against Brackley last season and it will be by no means easy.“The fact it’s the FA Cup makes things even harder as the stakes are high.
“All the lads are raring to go and we’re looking forward to it.”
It is a special weekend for Thame Rangers, who make their debut in the Cup, facing London Tigers.
Clubs win £2,250 in prize money if they progress.
