Leading Runcorn chemical firm Mexichem Fluor has won an award for safety.

The accolade for responsible care for process safetylLeadership at the esteemed Chemical Industry Awards 2019.

Therecognition follows the firm’s significant investment in process safety management, undertaking a thorough analysis of their protective and preventive systems.

The developments have provided a more streamlined and integrated approach throughout the site.

The Runcorn-based plant was recognised for its stringent safety processes, highly trained team and above and beyond policies including fatigue management, continued learning support and regular inspections.

This year, the Mexichem site was also credited with an exemplary report from the Health and Safety Executive inspector.

Tipu Salahuddin, downstream operations director, said: “We understand the critical importance of continuously improving safety management systems whilst reinforcing strict guidelines and site culture.

"This considered approach ensures site safety and security are always paramount.
