A FLOOD warning has been put in place for Widnes as heavy rain continues to pour.
An amber warning for flooding has been put in place after river levels are rising at the Causey Bridge river gauge today (Wednesday, July 31).
With river levels rising there is flooding on low land, roads and farmland around Ditton, Logwood Mill, Fox's Bank, Dog Clog, Stewards and Netherley Brooks.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "Further rainfall is forecast throughout the rest of the day.
"Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further flood alerts if necessary.
"Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation."
