OXFORD United Women continued their fine pre-season form when hammering Wolverhampton Women 6-2 at Whitelands Farm.

Manager Liam Gilbert handed debuts to new signings Ellie Kirby, Daisy McLachlan and Georgia Clifford.

He also fielded three trialists in his starting XI and one of them made an immediate impact, opening the scoring from the penalty spot on 20 minutes after being fouled in the area.

Wolves equalised, but Lauren Haynes restored United’s lead after half an hour with a superb strike from 30 yards.

It was the first of three goals in the space of eight minutes for the home side as Kayleigh Hines stabbed home and Sophie Baker found the bottom corner to make it 4-1 at half-time.

McLachlan netted the Southern Premier League side's fifth on 52 minutes, before the triallist notched her second.

Wolves completed the scoring, but it was only a consolation effort.

United are next in action on Sunday when they travel to Lewes.
