A GANG of youths drove and crashed diggers after breaking into a construction site.
Police were called to the Redrow Homes development off Sophia Drive at Omega shortly before 7.30pm yesterday, Sunday.
Residents reported that five teenage boys had broken into the building site – known as the Brook at Taylor’s Chase – before gaining access to diggers, steamrollers and other machinery and crashing the vehicles into each other.
Officers attended the scene and found that a JCB digger had been damaged.
The police helicopter was deployed in a bid to trace the offenders, but they were not caught - having fled the area on bicycles.
All but one of the youths were wearing black clothing, while the other had a grey hoodie.
Cheshire Police’s enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
