Emergency services were called to a car crash between Egremont and St Bees.
It happened at the crossroads in the dip on the Egremont to St Bees road.
A woman, in her twenties, has been taken to hospital after firefighters cut her free from her car.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: " Two appliances one from Whitehaven and one from Egremont attended a road traffic collision.
"We cut a female from her car who was then taken to hospital with we believe to be minor injuries, a passenger also had lower limb injuries which we believe to be minor.
"We then made the scene safe."
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Copeland Police said at the time: "Currently dealing with an RTC at the crossroads in the dip between Egremont and St Bees.
"The road is blocked and maybe for some time. Please find an alternate route."
