A CAR fire in Widnes earlier this morning is believed to have been started deliberately.
A fire crew from Penketh was called to reports of a vehicle fire in Orkney Close just after midnight.
On arrival the team discovered a fire on a driveway which was well alight.
One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, they then used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
The crew were detained at the scene for around one hour.
