A CHARITY supporting foster carers in Halton has been given a funding boost of more than £1,000 following an auction.
The annual event, in aid of Another Chance to Care, took place at the Holiday Inn in Runcorn.
Hundreds of guests attended to support the cause.
Each year the event builds on the last, with impressive prizes up for grabs, entertainment for all ages, delicious food and special guests.
The aim of the event is to raise funds to take children in care on an educational trip to London. The total raised this year was £1,044.
Halton Borough Council's executive board member for children and young people, Cllr Tom McInerney, said "It's a real pleasure to join our foster carers and their families at such a meaningful event.
"The funds raised will make a huge difference to our children in care and I can't thank the organisers enough for their invite and huge efforts to make the night a success".
Mayor and consort of Halton, Cllr Margaret and Mr Carl Horabin took to Facebook to express their delight.
They said: "It was a great evening and was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves dancing and just having fun.
"Hot Pot supper was beautiful, and I even won a couple of times on the raffle".
