Some of Frodsham and Helsby’s car park systems will change later this month and coucil chiefs want to ensure all blue badge holders will still be able to park for four hours free.
Badge holders will get from four hours’ free parking at Moor Lane, Frodsham, and Station Avenue, Helsby, by displaying a valid badge and time clock.
At Frodsham Station, four hours’ free parking will be available thanks to a special microchip sticker.
In order to qualify for this blue badge holders will be required to obtain a free sticke, containing an electronic chip to attach to the badge itself.
The chip attached to the blue badge can be presented at the entrance and exit barriers to allow entry and exit within four hours.
Parking over four hours will require a payment and charges are shown on signs within each car park.
New charges and length of stay restrictions are planned to come into effect in Frodsham and Helsby on Wednesday, July 31.
Anyone with questions about the new arrangements for car parking in Frodsham and the stickers for blue badge holders can call into two drop-in sessions which have been arranged on the following dates:
Wednesday, July 10, 12pm to 2.30pm – Frodsham Library
Monday, July 15, 4pm to 7pm – Frodsham Leisure Centre
Cabinet member for highways and transport Cllr Karen Shore said: “Our officers will be happy to talk to anyone with questions about the new car parking and blue badge arrangements at the two drop-in sessions in the town.
"No appointment is needed, just pop in.”
The application form is online on the Cheshire West and Chester Council website and the chips can be collected from Frodsham library.
