FAMILY and friends of a Runcorn man who died from cancer organised a fundraising afternoon tea in his memory.

The event, at Runcorn Masonic Hall, raised £3,830 for Sarcoma UK, a national charity fund vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.

It was held in memory of Cheshire Freemason, Graham Clayton, a former chairman and secretary of Runcorn Masonic Hall, who lost his brave battle with cancer 12 months ago.

A Cheshire Masons spokesperson said: "Graham's loving family wanted to celebrate Graham's life as well as raise money for Sarcoma UK.

"It is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma.

"Many raffle donations were received from local businesses as well as friends, and an incredible £3,830 was raised."
