A PENSIONER has been left extremely shaken after three masked men threatened him with a large knife in his Widnes home.

At around 12.45am on Wednesday, May 29 three men forced into a home on Edward Street and assaulted a 68-year-old man.

They then threatened him with a large knife and demanded that he handed over all his cash.

The yobs, all wearing dark clothing, ski masks and gloves, then ran away towards Castle Street with cash and cigarettes.

Cheshire Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Detective constable Jordan Trentini said: “Thankfully the victim in this case did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of his ordeal.

“However, understandably he has been left extremely shaken up and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the men responsible and bring them to justice.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and I am keen to hear from anyone with any information, no matter how small, which may assist our investigation.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone with any CCTV footage or any drivers with dashcam footage who were driving in the Edward Street, Castle Street and Warrington Road areas between 12.30am and 1am on Wednesday, May 29.

“I ask anyone with any information or footage that may be relevant to our investigation to contact the team here at Widnes on 101, quoting IML 413878.”
