POLICE have clarified that there was no arrest made after a car crashed into a tree in Bold Heath on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called after a collision as a Honda Jazz crashed into a tree on Warrington Road, between junctions with Twyford Lane and Mill Lane at around 6.45pm.
A police spokesman had said that a 54-year-old woman from Great Sankey had been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
However, police have since confirmed that this information was inaccurate and that there have been no arrests made in connection with this incident.

The driver, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital for "a check up", with her injuries described as "slight".
A road closure was in place for around two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.
After the incident, police said: "There was a report of a car in collision with a tree.
"Ambulance attended and the driver was taken to hospital.
"The road was reopened at about 8.50pm."
