POLICE have confirmed that the discovery of a man's body in the River Mersey is not being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to Monks Ferry at around 6.10am on Wednesday, May 22 to following reports of a body in the water.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has been identified and his next of kin have been informed.
His death is not believed to be suspicious.
A file has been passed to the coroner.
