AN aspiring vet from Halton hopes to bring home the title of Little Miss British Isles.

Mia Carney Washington will take part in the national final of the Little Miss British Isles 2019 Model Competition at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester this weekend.

Mia was crowned Little Miss Halton 2018/19 in November and hopes to take the national title. At stake is £1,000 including a modelling and promotional contract as well as many other great prizes.

The 10-year-old and her hobbies include dancing, acro and fashion designing.

She fell in love with dancing at just 18 months old when she attended Baby Ballet classes she now attends a local dance school and competes regularly in dance competitions and festivals.

Proud mum Nicola said: "Mia is passionate about caring for animals and dreams of being a vet, even at ten years old she is looking forward to attending university and understands how hard she must work to make her dream come true.

"Mia was overwhelmed when she found out that she had won the title of Little Miss Halton in November and couldn't wait to share her success with friends and family especially her younger sister Ava who offers constant support to her big sister."

Mia loves to help design and make her own costumes for the festivals including her classical ballet tutu.

Mia adores sport and will give all sports a try, she has competed in tumbling and gymnastics at a National level and attended swimming galas with her school. Mia loves being in the spotlight, modelling or performing and has secured a place on the Star Studios team at Gulliver’s World performing in their pantomimes and shows.

She also successfully auditioned to perform at the Brindley on June 18 in Into The Spotlight, a charity show to raise money for Halton Haven directed by Ricardo Benig.

Mia has been fortunate to secure two businesses to sponsor her for taking part in the competition.

These are Miss Ellie Dancewear in Covent Garden who she has been an ambassador for for the past 12 months and have provided her with clothing for dance training and the finals!

The second is Ragdollz a new clothing and beauty shop in Runcorn Old Town. Ragdollz is owned by Lucy Humphrey and family, current Miss Warrington and they will be styling Mia’s hair for the competition.

Little Miss British Isles is a national modelling competition and is open to girls aged between 5 and 10.

Finalists are not permitted to wear make-up. The event is run with the modelling industry watching dog ALBA.
