A 19-YEAR-old makeup artist is helping people with cancer feel good about themselves with the help of a TV star.

Niamh Swindells, from Runcorn, hosted an event at The Jack Lounge Function Room for Look Good Feel Better, a charity which helps improve the confidence and well-being of people undergoing cancer treatment through free skincare and make-up workshops.

Niamh explained: "My mum had cancer so I found it through that.

"I just decided to raise as much money as I could for them."

She taught a glam-style makeup demonstration on her model Leigh Easthope, who is one of the finalists in BBC’s makeup artist show Glow Up, as well as holding a question and answer session with him.

The 50 guests who came to watch had a chance to win prizes which had been donated from a selection of 33 well-known brands, such as INGLOT, Feel Unique, L’Oreal, Eldora Lashes, The Body Shop and Lee Stafford.

Niamh's event raised more than £1,200 and the teenager hopes to plan another event in the future.
