A RUNCORN youngster has chopped off his hair to raise money in honour of the hospice who looked after his aunt.

Malakai Stewart, aged 10, from Weston Point had his long locks cut to help Halton Haven Hospice.

The Victoria Road School pupil ran a Just Giving page on the internet and had family members take sponsor forms to work to bring in the cash.

He then sat in the chair at Jones & Co hairdressers in Church Street, Runcorn, to see the clippers do their work.

Malakai's mum, Kelly, said: "He chose Halton Haven because it’s where his auntie passed away and he wanted to do something on their behalf.

"He raised £235 in total and I’m very proud of him."
