A MENTAL health nurse and her colleagues are taking on a hair-raising abseil to raise awareness about a dedicated charity.
Laura Ritchie, from Runcorn, works as part of Knowsley Community Mental Health team and will be abseiling down Liverpool Cathedral for Papyrus, a mental health charity based in Warrington.
She said: "I am a champion for Papyrus so I have done training and the guys wanted to raise money for a charity.
"We work in adult mental heath and Papyrus work with anyone aged 35 or below so for us, our job is more related to this.
"It's the biggest killer in young people- not a lot of people know about Papyrus and the support line they provide.
"Some of us have children at school age, it's something we feel needs more awareness."
Papyrus provides Hopeline, a specialist telephone service staffed by trained professionals who give support, advice and information to children, teenagers and young people who are worried about how they, or someone else, is feeling.
Laura and the team will take part in the challenge on August 17 and are kindly asking for sponsors for their chosen charity.
She added: "We just want to try and raise as much as we can!"
