A 10-YEAR-old dancing star from Runcorn is hoping to take home the crown when she competes in Little Miss British Isles later this month.

Freya Ewing started dancing at the town's Centre Stage School of Dance aged seven and now has a busy schedule as her dancing, performing and modelling career is underway.

Her mum, Jen Ewing, said: "Freya was introduced into the world of modelling after going for a model experience photo shoot with Little Models Inc based in Chester 12 months ago.

"She loved showing off her dance skills to the camera and expressing herself.

"Freya now does a variety of modelling and acting and is an ambassador for Miss Ellie Dancewear and Figgety Jig Dancewear."

Carolyn Figg, owner of Figgety Jig, will be designing and making Freya a dress to wear for the final of Little Miss British Isles.

When the youngster isn't in front of the camera, she helps support Halton Haven Hospice and will be performing in the charity show, Into the Spotlight, directed by Ricardo Benig at The Brindley in June.

Jen explained: "It was where she sadly said goodbye to her great grandmother after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

"Freya takes part in sponsored activities and events throughout the year with her sister Heidi to raise money for the hospice."

Freya will be competing for the Little Miss British Isles title on May 26 at the Crown Plaza in Chester for the chance to win a cash prize and a modelling contract.
