Crews extinguish large 'unattended bonfire'
AN UNATTENDED bonfire had to be extinguished by firefighters in Runcorn on Friday night (May 3).
At around 9.10pm fire crews were called to reports of a blaze in the open off Longbenton Way.
On arrival firefighters discovered what they described as "a large unattended bonfire", which was approximately five metres by five metres which involved loose refuse.
Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and were detained at the scene for approximately one hour.
