A 10-YEAR-old's mental health charity launched in memory of his dad has received donations from Runcorn Linnets Easter Monday matchday.
Alfie Fitzsimmons is goalkeeper for Widnes' Under 10s team and he and his team-mates took part in a half-time penalty shootout as mascots for the EVO-STIK League West fixture earlier this week.
Alfie's dad died in 2017 and had suffered with mental health problems so the youngster set up Alfie's Squad to help others whose lives are or have been impacted by such illnesses.
The matchday collection at Runcorn Linnets raised £336.11 for the charity which is fundraising for a children's-focused area at Everton Football Club's proposed People’s Place mental health facility.
