TWO Green Party candidates ‘devastated’ about plans to destroy green belt land will be standing in Halton’s elections on May 2.

IT Project Manager Andrew Dyer, who has previously worked for a renewable energy firm, is the party’s candidate in Daresbury.

He has been living in the area for seven years and told voters he is passionate about education and special needs education.

Furthermore, Millie Allen is the party’s candidate for Hough Green, an area where she grew up and has recently returned to live.

The Warrington and Halton Green Party pair say they are ‘devastated’ to hear about council plans to destroy green belt sites in the two areas.

Andrew and Millie also confirmed that they support the schools strike for climate action and are committed to working for ‘environmental and social justice at all levels’.
