LONG delays are building on the M56 westbound due to an earlier crash today, Thursday.
Congestion is stretching back to junction 10 at Stretton after the incident close to junction 12 at Runcorn.
The eastbound side of the carriageway is also slow due to onlookers.
All lanes have now been re-opened, however travel time is estimated to be around 50 to 55 minutes.
Vehicles were held between 4.45pm and 4.55pm to allow traffic officers to move the vehicles and also clear the debris off the road.
Lane three was closed.
