CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service were called to two arson attacks in Widnes late on Tuesday night.
At 9.35pm, one fire engine was dispatched to Lanark Gardens to attend an incident.
This involved a bin fire, which was extinguished by Widnes firefighters using a water back pack.
The fire was lit on a play area at Upton Rocks which was damaged in the process and took 15 minutes to deal with.
Crews were also called out to a separate incident at 9.40pm on Hale Road.
A fire engine was sent to reports of a small fire in the open.
The fire on Hale Road
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze in a field off Hale Road, which involved a wheelie bin and sofa which had deliberately set alight.
The team were in attendance for around 15 minutes.
On Twitter, Widnes Fire Station confirmed it was in the same area in which their crew was attacked on Monday night.
They also asked residents to ensure their wheelie bins were secure and out of sight to prevent them becoming a target for arsonists.
