CHESHIRE Fire has issued an appeal for information after a Widnes fire crew was attacked by young people throwing fireworks.
The firefighters were called to an address in Lanark Gardens at 9.15pm last night, Monday, and found a large amount of wood chippings were well alight.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: "While firefighters were fighting the fire, which had been started deliberately, they were attacked by a group of young people firing fireworks at them."
Fortunately none of the crew were injured.
Police attended the incident and anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number IML 369055.
