A PUPIL at The Heath School in Runcorn is continuing her modelling success after she was selected for a national competition.

Lydia Chandler, 13, will be competing in Miss British Isles in May and has even secured sponsorship from a Runcorn-based business, TP Removals, who fronted her entrance fee.

Lydia's mum, Antonia said: "When Lydia was five, she did some modelling for Cheshire Oaks and she loved it.

"She loves fashion design and she watches fashion shows.

"She said she was really interested in getting back into modelling again."

Lydia's return to modelling began in October last year when she competed in Miss International Rose and came away with fifth place.

As part of the competition she raised money for Dayz out for Kidz, a charity which provides days out and other leisure activities for under privileged, disabled and sick children and young adults.

Antonia explained: "Entering the competition is the best thing she could have done.

"It's great for her to get herself out there.

"She loves mingling with the other girls- she's usually running around with them.

"Her and her friend were both going round helping people with their makeup and fixing their dresses and to watch her do that was lovely."

Lydia has always been interested in fashion and modelling, and would make her own Barbie clothes when she was younger, which hasn't gone unnoticed.

She was asked to model for Liverpool Fashion Week but was too young to take part.

Lydia will compete in Miss British Isles in May at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester for the chance to win a cash prize and a modelling contract.
