The women’s league will be visiting the town on June 1 and 2 for a grand finale to the season, featuring 10 games and no fewer than four playoff finals.

Women’s League manager Sally Taylor said: “We are excited to take the Trophy Weekend to Widnes and look forward to another great weekend of women’s ice hockey.

“Thanks to the management at Planet Ice Widnes for their help in making this happen and thanks to the teams in the women’s leagues for their patience while the final details were ironed out.”

Planet Ice Widnes rink manager Vernon Neil added:”Planet Ice Widnes looks forward to welcoming the teams and supporters to our rink and our town and we can’t wait to share the event with the hockey fans of this region.”

Admission to the weekend will continue to be free for spectators.

The full schedule for the Trophy Weekend will be confirmed in due course.
