RESIDENTS are invited to nominate those whose acts of kindness set them apart and make Halton a better place.

The Pass It On Awards is a chance for people to share stories about good neighbours who make people feel welcome in the community.

Created by partners across Halton, including Halton Borough Council, Pass It On is a new community wide celebration including free workshops to enable more people to understand how to help others.

Alerter workshops, provided by Geese Theatre Company, will take place at The Methodist Church Hall in Derby Road, Widnes on Wednesday, April 10 from 9am.

It will help people to understand how to identify when children or adults may be at risk of harm and what to do to get support.

Halton Borough Council's executive board member for health and wellbeing, councillor Marie Wright, said: "This training is free to all adults living or working in Halton and the partnership are especially hoping that those who work in amenities, shops, surgeries and transport will take up the offer."
