FIREFIGHTERS tackled a vehicle blaze in Widnes yesterday evening, Monday.
At 5.20pm, one crew from Penketh Fire Station was called to reports of a car fire in Watkinson Way.
On arrival at the scene the team discovered the engine compartment of the saloon car was well alight.
One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
They were detained at the scene for approximately 30 minutes.
