DISADVANTAGED children can look forward to a special Easter treat this year thanks to a new Halton appeal.

The Halton Easter egg appeal has been set up by Widnes resident, Nicky Woodward, who already runs the successful Christmas toy appeal, and is backed by Merseyflow and it’s parent company, Emovis.

The hope is that the eggs can be distributed to foodbanks, refuges and children’s centres in the area to reach those in need.

Nicky Woodward, appeal organiser, said: “We want to replicate the success of the Christmas toy appeal this Easter and help give to children who are not as fortunate as others.

“We are hugely thankful to Merseyflow for helping support the appeal and all others who wish to donate.

“It really does make a difference.”

Merseyflow has set up a drop-off point for customers so they can donate Easter eggs at its walk-in centre in Manor Park, Runcorn.

Anyone wanting to donate will be able to until April 12.
