WIDNES Viking players have received a generous £600 donation towards the club’s appeal from pupils at their former primary school.
Year four student, Ollie, wanted to repay Ted and Jay Chapelhow for the work they do supporting Farnworth CE Primary School.
Head teacher, Jackie Stillings, said: “Ollie wrote a letter to me asking if, as a school, we could support the Vikings as a way of saying thank you for the work that they do with our school.
“Ollie felt very inspired and passionate about their plight and asked if the children could come to school wearing sports clothing for a donation.
“It was really confirming and inspiring to hear the boys recount their time at Farnworth and their journey to reach their dreams and aspirations of becoming professional rugby players.
"The children certainly enjoyed and appreciated the visit from them."
