FIRE CREWS were called to a flat fire in Widnes last night, Thursday.
At about 5.45pm, firefighters from Penketh, Warrington and Widnes stations were called to a top floor flat fire in Albert Road.
Crews, six wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet and a covering jet to extinguish the fire.
Everyone in the flats was evacuated safely but one person was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Crews then used a large fan to clear smoke from two floors of the property before checking the site with a thermal imaging camera.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
