A man has been charged after a female police constable was punched in the face during a violent stop and search in Charlton.
The man, 20, tried to avoid being searched and was detained after the officer was punched.

Police say a lock knife and a quantity of drugs were also found in his possession after the incident on Floyd Road yesterday.

A spokesman for Greenwich police told News Shopper the PC who was punched is now doing fine.
He added: "The man has also been charged and remanded to Bromley Magistrate' Court for assault on an emergency worker, possession of class B drugs and possession of a pointed and bladed article."
