RESIDENTS are invited to share their views on a £20m investment to revitalise two Halton Lea estates.

Riverside is asking people living in Hallwood Park and Palace Fields in Runcorn to have a say on what’s important to them in their areas.

A commitment of £20m from Riverside will be invested in the area over 10 years.

Key areas the housing association wishes to gain people’s views on are education, transport links, accommodation, health and the economy.

It is hoped that by improving these neighbourhoods it will help drive investment to create a strong, balanced and sustainable community for the future.

No firm plans have been drawn up yet and initial engagement events are taking place in the coming weeks to allow everyone, including non-Riverside tenants, to have their say.

Key partners including Cheshire Police and Halton Borough Council will be involved in shaping the neighbourhood renewal plan.

Dean Butterworth, Riverside’s regional director, said: "We are really pleased to be making this multi-million pound investment in these neighbourhoods, which we feel is necessary for the area to be sustainable and continue to grow.

"Halton Lea is one of just two areas in the country that Riverside’s board has selected to make this massive level of investment, the other being in Carlisle, so it’s important that everyone gets involved, gives feedback and shares their ideas on what matters to them.

"It’s important to us that all residents living in Palace Fields and Hallwood Park are part of the journey every step of the way.

"This is just the beginning and we are in the very early stages of the project with nothing drawn up as yet.

"We are committed to supporting real change in the area with the area renewal plan spanning the next 10 years.”

The first engagement events for residents living in Palace Fields and Hallwood Park to get involved are:

  • Saturday, February 16 at The Square Shopping City between 12noon and 5pm.

• Saturday, March 2 at The Square Shopping City between 12noon and 5pm.

• Monday, February 18 at Bethesda Church in Palace Fields.

There’s also an online survey to help gather residents thoughts and hear what matters to them.

A paper survey with a pre-paid envelope can be picked up from Palace Fields Community Centre, Palace Fields Primary School, Halton Lea Library and Hallwood Park Primary School.

The survey closes at 9am on March 4.

Anyone unable to make the engagement events or needing support for a paper survey to be delivered to you and collected at a later date by the Riverside Team please contact hp.pf.enquiry@riverside.org.uk or call 0345 111 0000.
