THROUGHOUT this year we will be dipping into the wedding albums of Warrington couples who have tied the knot and finding out more about the happiest day of their life.

HAPPY couple Sandra Wood, aged 38, and Mike Ward, aged 37, tied the knot after meeting on dating website E-harmony.

The pair exchanged messages and chatted for about two weeks before they met in person a few days before Christmas in 2015 at a pub for a drink.

They ended up staying there for food and carried on talking for hours.

Mike said when they first met he thought Sandy was amazing but he was nervous and he talks a lot when he's nervous.

Sandra said she wondered how long it would take for Mike to calm down as he talked non-stop for about half an hour.

Although Mike had purchased the ring in April he didn’t find the right moment until August and eventually popped the question at sunset on Crosby beach on August 15, 2017

They tied the knot on May 26 last year, the same date of Sandra's parent's wedding anniversary, at St Thomas’ Church in Stockton Heath with the wedding reception in the church hall.

Warrington Guardian:

The room had been transformed into a vintage setting for afternoon tea.

Described as a relaxed and happy atmosphere, Sandra and Mike celebrated with 70 of their closest friends and family, including Sandra's two daughters Scarlet and Caitlyn, enjoying a selection of delicious sandwiches and homemade cakes provided by Eden Catering.

Warrington Guardian:

The couple added: "There are so many favourite moments because everything was so perfect.

"After the service we went to Grappenhall Walled Gardens for photographs to be taken with the bridesmaids.

"It was perfect to get a quiet half an hour together.

"Our photographer Lisa managed to capture a photograph where we are laughing and it perfectly captures everything about our relationship and the day."

Warrington Guardian:

The newly weds went straight to Lake Windermere from the wedding reception for a weekend on their own and stayed at the Burnside Hotel in the Lake Suite spending the evening in a hot tub overlooking the lake.

With a mutual love of films, music, TV shows, foods, days out, games, camping and the great outdoors, Sandra and Mike have got a lot in common and said they felt comfortable talking to each other right from the start.

Warrington Guardian:

They added: "We’ve been very lucky that all our friends and family have welcomed us both into their lives and nothing has felt out of place.

"Everything has felt natural and meant to be.

"The first time Mike met the girls we all watched a film together cuddled up on the sofa.

"Mike is a self confessed geek and the girls are the same but Sandra is still in denial.

"We are very lucky that we found each other and can't wait to find out what lies in store in the future."
