THE M56 was closed this morning, Sunday, due to a serious accident.
A collision involving a lorry closed the motorway westbound from junction 11 for Preston Brook and junction 12 for Runcorn.
The road was closed since 5.30am and traffic was being diverted via the A56 northbound.
The motorway opened at about midday.
