A HOME care company in Runcorn and Widnes has relaunched a campaign to get more people caring for the elderly.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, You Can Care, Home Instead Senior Care, is looking to recruit 20 new caregivers to join its team.

Since launching the campaign in 2018, the company has grown by 30 per cent, with 15 jobs created over the past 12 months.

Skills for Care, a trusted independent charity with over 18 years of experience in workforce development, estimates that eight per cent of roles in adult social care are vacant, which gives an average of approximately 110,000 vacancies at any one time.

These statistics suggest that the sector is struggling to keep up with demand as the population ages.

Speaking of the campaign, Brian Moynihan, owner of Home Instead Frodsham, says: "When we launched the You Can Care campaign last year, we saw an upsurge in interest from people looking to join the care sector.

"As our population continues to age, we are continuing to build our team with kind and compassionate people who want to make a difference to the elderly in the community."

"Although they are all unique individuals they possess common traits – patience, kindness, empathy, attentiveness, dependability and integrity."

Alison, a caregiver for Home Instead said: "Since working at Home Instead, I really do look forward to my job and to meeting my clients.

"It was the best decision of my life joining Home Instead, and I finally feel I'm doing a career I’ve always wanted to do."
