A NETBALL team from Runcorn are on the lookout for new members to help them reach the top.

The newly-developed team of year five girls at Beechwood Netball Club was created in October and is already in division one of the Warrington junior league.

Beechwood club has 11 junior teams and is affiliated with England Netball with fully qualified coaches.

Emma Myers, netball coach, said: "We have had some really positive feedback from one of the umpires about how well the girls composed themselves and how positive they were as a team."

Team sports like netball help to reduce the risk of obesity, increase cardio-vascular fitness, improve social skills, relieve stress, improve the ability to work as a team, improved self-esteem and improve cognitive ability.

The club is currently holding trials for year five girls aged nine or 10 at St Chads School in Grangeway, Runcorn on Thursday evening from 5-6pm.

The first two sessions are free.
