THE kind-hearted train worker who came to the aid of Kaycee Bradshaw and family after they were left stranded at Crewe station has been tracked down.

Earlier today, the Star spoke to Claire Riley the mum of six-year-old Kaycee Bradshaw, from Sutton, who is battling Batten Disease, a neurological condition that has affected her ability to walk, talk and will lead to childhood dementia.

The family embark on weekly journeys to Great Ormond Street Hospital for ongoing enzyme treatment to halt the effects of the disease.

But yesterday, Tuesday, January 15, as they were on their usual train home from London Euston, their train was forced to stop at Crewe – leaving wheelchair bound Kaycee and her parents stranded at the station.

But a Virgin Trains staff member came to the rescue by paying for a taxi to take them from Crewe to Runcorn - a 50 minute journey - all paid for by Virgin Trains.

After reading the Star's article, Virgin Trains got on the case and have found the kind-hearted rail worker - Virgin Trains team leader Scott Chase.

A spokesperson for Virgin Trains said: “We’re really proud of our frontline Virgin team and of the way Scott was able to keep the Riley family a little more comfortable and warm before helping them complete their journey to Runcorn.”
